Roofing for Middletown, from the Wesleyan blocks to Westfield
Middletown is about half an hour from our Wallingford shop, by Route 68 to Route 17 or I-91 to Route 9. It's Middlesex County's big town, and the roofs sort by neighborhood: 19th-century houses with steep gables and slate around Wesleyan and the High Street historic district, 1950s to '70s capes and colonials in Westfield and off Washington Street (Route 66), and newer subdivisions in South Farms and out toward Long Hill Road. Along the Connecticut River, wind and driving rain hit roofs harder than they do inland.
Our Middletown work so far has been on the estimate side: four written quotes for a homeowner on Arbutus Street in February 2026 and another on Washington Street in April 2026, plus an inquiry off Coleman Road. We're closer than most of the Hartford-area roofers that advertise here, and we come out to measure in person.
Middletown's older multi-families and the additions on its postwar capes bring the two problems we fix most: low-slope sections shingled at too shallow a pitch, and chimneys and dormers with tired flashing. We install EPDM and TPO on flat and low-slope sections, step-flash every chimney, and run two rows of ice-and-water shield along every eave and valley, double the Connecticut code minimum.
Our roofing standards on every Middletown home
The boring details that decide whether a roof lasts twenty-five years or fifteen.

Ice-and-water shield: 2 rows. Connecticut code requires one row (24 inches past the interior wall). We install two rows (48 inches). Double the code.
Drip edge on every rake. Every roof, every time.
Attic ventilation, inspected on every job. If your existing setup is working, we reinstall the ridge vent. If it's not, we build you a better one.
Same-day dry-in. When we tear off the old roof, we cover the roof sheathing with waterproof underlayment before we stop for the day. Your house is never left open overnight.
Sheathing replacement. If the existing roof sheathing doesn't meet our standards, we replace it.
GAF Certified Contractor. Factory-certified installer with manufacturer-backed warranty.

Middletown Roofing FAQs
Do I need a permit to replace my roof in Middletown?
Yes. The City of Middletown requires a building permit for a roof replacement. We pull it and schedule the final inspection for you.
How far is Middletown from your shop, and will you come out?
About half an hour. Route 68 runs from our door in Wallingford to Durham and on to Route 17 into Middletown. We've already estimated projects on Arbutus Street and Washington Street in 2026, and we're glad to come out.
I have a flat roof over an addition that keeps leaking. Do you do that?
Yes. We install and repair EPDM and TPO membrane roofs (in March 2026 we did an EPDM repair in Wallingford), and we'll tell you whether a patch will hold or the section needs a new membrane.
When is the best time of year to schedule roof work in central CT?
Late spring through early fall (May–October) is the sweet spot. Shingles seal best when daytime temperatures stay above 50°F, and the ground is dry enough to stage materials without tearing up lawns. If you're planning a full replacement, book your estimate in March or April to get on the calendar before the summer rush.
